Detachment 1 40th Infantry Division Band

Music is always better when it's for the troops. Our rock band set up after a long day at the range to provide a morale boosting set for our fellow soldiers.

Good things still happened in 2020 as our own SSG Villagomez attended and graduated from ALC at the School of Music in Little Creek this June. SSG Glancy also completed ALC while SPC Dorais and SPC Villagomez completed a distance learning version of BLC.

Promotions are always a special occasion in a soldier's life. This year we had the privilege of elevating SGT Glancy to the rank of SSG. SSG Glancy has served as a trumpet player in almost every MPT in the band over the course of his career. He's spent the last three years honoring fallen veterans as a member of the Funeral Honors program. Congratulations SSG Glancy!

Our brass quintet has been busy this year. This October we were honored to participate in the memorial service for the father of our Division and Cal Guard Commanding General MG Yeager. Our own SSG Glancy also provided Taps for the service.

It has certainly been a difficult year for many. While we were not able to participate in many of our normal ceremonies, we were lucky enough to be invited to play for the City of Whittier's Veteran's Day video. As we close out the year, take some time to enjoy our patriotic selections.
