BABY STATION NEW ITEMS ARRIVE DAILY! CHECK OUT THESE NEW DONATIONS! ... Desert Sanctuary now has a Thrift Store specializing in clothing, care items, and toys for children aged 0-5 yrs old! New items arrive weekly! All items are treated with a bio-disinfectant to ensure safety. In order to prevent the spread of Covid-19 we ask that patrons and children over the age of 2 wear a mask per California Health Department guidelines. If you do not have a mask we will provide one for you. Temperatures will be taken at the door, and social distancing protocols will be followed. Besides our selection of children's items we operate a Diaper Bank. If you are in need of diapers we can provide some along with a package of baby wipes after answering a few qualification questions. Reminder that the child needing diapers must be present! After the first time we parent(s) will be encouraged enroll with our Case Managers. 100% of the proceeds are used to support the victims of Domestic Violence and their families. Though the S.T.E.P. (Systemic Training for Effective Parenting) has already begun you can still register for a future class. The current training is geared towards families with children aged 7-12, but we also offer training to families with children aged 0-6. If you started a previous training session and missed any of the modules here's your chance to make them up. Yesterday Devin from Hawkeye Imaging finished up the final taping sequences of our virtual tour video. The video will showcase our amazing staff and include a 360 component. The 360 video will provide a way to see our offices on your phone so that as you turn the video will move with you. By far the best part of the experience was participating in a drone video taping. Watching the drone was captivating and viewing the raw footage amazing! Thank you Devin and Hawkeye Im...ages! Stay tuned here for the finished product!

Desert Sanctuary hosted "A Window Between Worlds" in our conference room today because the weather is getting cooler. (yay) Today's workshop was entitled , "The Monster in Me". "To provide participants with the opportunity to explore difficult emotions in a safe and fun way, and give voice to the feelings that may be hidden inside, by creating artwork that represents the "Monster" within." We will be having workshops on Tues. from 1pm to 3pm inside because of the cooler weather. We will continue to practice social distancing, and follow Covid-19 restrictions.
