Happy Holidays! Hooray, the COVID-19 vaccine with 95% efficacy are coming out! Unfortunately, most of us will not get them until May of 2021. Although the COVID vaccine can generate antibodies against the COVID-19, they still cannot prevent you from getting infected naturally. So, if you take the vaccine, you will not die from catching the virus, but you can still be a potential super spreader to infect others. Therefore, even if you took the COVID vaccine or recovered ...from a natural COVID-19 infection, please continue the practice of mask wearing, six-feet social distancing and avoiding indoor/outdoor gathering. Please be considerate that even if you have the immunity, most others don’t. Dr. Fang and staffs at Prestige Endodontics will be COVID vaccinated, but to protect you, our patients, we will continue to follow the strictest infection control and continue to wear PPE/PAPR. We will return to normal when we reach herd immunity, which will be after 60% of Americans getting COVID through vaccination or naturally acquired.

Unfortunately, California is going through the second lockdown. Because root canal treatments are essential and our clinic is fully stocked in PPE and well-prepped in an anti-COVID environment, Prestige Endodontics will open during the stay-at-home lockdown #2! Please, avoid crowds, stay six-feet distancing, wear mask both indoor and outdoor, and keep our Happy Holidays spirits up!

During the pandemic, in order to avoid air hoses viral cross-contamination, we shall not offer nitrous oxide during our root canal treatments. Instead, twilight sleeping pills are great alternatives to help minimizing anxiety. If you are frightened about root canal treatments, please schedule a consultation for the anti-anxiety medications.

If you are experiencing recent hot/cold teeth sensitivity, waking up with jaw muscle or joint soreness, or tooth structure cracking/chipping, you might be in risk of the COVID crack tooth syndrome. It is stress related behavior from the unforeseeable future of the COVID-19 pandemic, people are clenching and grinding their teeth more frequent and heavier than normal, especially during their sleeps. As a preventive measure, please ask your general dentist to prescribe you tw...o sets of dental nightguards to protect your teeth from wearing away. The worst outcome of the COVID crack tooth syndrome will be either root canal treatment and crowns or extraction and implants. For the incomplete crown-root fracture, split tooth and vertical root fracture, root canal treatment will not be able to salvage the tooth, extraction for implants indicated. As of now, there are no dental imaging systems can detect crack root 50%+. Wearing nightguard every night will minimize your chance of losing more teeth. See more

Thank you Orange County residents for wearing masks, keeping 6ft social distancing and compassionately working toward Tier 3 and 4! Prestige Endodontics too is monitoring the SARS-CoV-2 curve in OC to adjust our levels of PPE gears. Thank you for keeping the curve low and flat, our clinic’s plastic liners/barriers are taken down and we are now changing from wearing jumpsuits into gowns! Because COVID-19 is an airborne virus, we shall continue wearing N95 and PAPR to protect everyone! We recently installed the world’s only air purifying system that can filter out SARS virus 99.99% from the first pass and thus prevent virus recirculating in the air.

When dealing with airborne virus, this is the required PPE outfits! We are prepared and we are 100% protected! We don’t double book appointments, no two patients are allowed in the same waiting room, and we only see one patient at a time. We take the time deep clean/sterilize the whole clinic between patients!

We are ready for you! Are you ready for us? Appointed patient please come in comfortable clothing. Do not bring purse nor bag nor backpack, we have no place to store them. Come just yourself, no companion allowed. Pleas knock on door and our staff will open the door for you. We will take your temperature before asking you to put on the PPE we provided for you. During the time of pandemic, we will phone both patient and patient’s primary dentist to pre-screen and to avoi...d difficult procedures by all means. This is our fourth week of Stay at home! Hang in there, hopefully we can get your root canals done in May! Dr Fang is currently at home testing different levels of oral/nasal protections to achieve germ/virus free environment. We highly recommend you to wear either NK95 or N95 masks for the best protection. The cloth masks that are easily made from home are good options too. Please wear mask while you are outdoor or grocery shopping!
