Get those seed orders in! This is a cover crop mix of cayuse oats, triticale, beardless wheat, faba beans, and bio-master peas.

It was a 5 month journey to maturity for the rice. The grain heads are mature and are ready to be harvested!

This soil here is a Bruella sandy loam. This field has 4 different soil types. It’s important to randomize your soil samples to get accurate results. Give us a call to begin soil sampling your field

POST HARVEST EVALUATIONS Hopefully many of you have picked and found a home for your grapes. We are currently conducting post-harvest evaluations. Although it may seem like not much is happening with the grapes, the vines are continuing to allocate resources. The grapevines are taking up nutrients and minerals from the soil. With the help of photosynthesis, they create carbohydrate reserves and store them in their roots and trunk for uptake during dormancy. Therefore, we take soil samples and based on the results we create an effective fertilization program. By doing this we can accurately nourish the vines and fuel them for new growth the following season.

Today we met with our San Joaquin Farm Advisor and discussed insect pest management in organic farming.
