Dell'Arte International 06.01.2021

From our partners at Zimbabwe Theatre Academy Zimbabwe Theatre Academy in partnership with Portland Playhouse has launched an online fundraiser to support some of the Academy’s 4th cohort of students who are incredibly young, talented and coming from outside of Harare. The youth-led Zimbabwe Theatre Academy has become the first premiere institution for the full-time training of practically oriented theatre skills and an ideal platform for global interaction and integration in Zimbabwe. Please help us support these students and forward this message to your contacts to help this campaign reach its target.

Dell'Arte International 03.01.2021

Dell'Arte students Marguerite Boissonnault and Hannah Shaka recently set up a GoFundMe for the production of their Thesis Project "Jumella." "Jumella" is a story of twin sisters, two halves of one whole, struggling against the forces that seek to pull them apart. Determined to be together, they escape into the imaginary world of Jumella, a mysterious place filled with strange creatures. Will they stay in Jumella forever, or be forced back to reality? Using aerial silks and... otherworldly masks, "Jumella" tells the story of the spirit’s search for wholeness and transcendence amidst our darkest inner selves. From Margueritte and Hannah: "If you are able, please consider donating to our GoFundMe. No amount is too small, even if it's the couple bucks you would slide across the box office at the Carlo Theatre for a 'real life' student show. Your contribution means so much to us in these unprecedented times, and goes towards the continued development of this piece (and eventually, LIVE theatre!!). If you aren't able to contribute, no sweat! We warmly invite you to watch the show anyways!" A YouTube link to view the production can be found on the GoFundMe page. Thanks for supporting Dell'Arte's students and for including theatre in your life during these times.
