I am the owner of a small business (Deibler SF HOA) that uses technology (computers, online access, and online storage/ retrieval of documents) to save on costs to my clients, but also to minimize the extreme waste of paper that has been common in the industry I work for: Community Association Management. I am able to bring my office to an HOA meeting with a large external monitor attached to a laptop for presenting the digitally stored documents. I have most of my clients ac...cepting management reports as a digital file in their email boxes instead of mailing large sized reports to them individually. My clients can access these digital documents online, and they do not themselves need to store files of paper reports. I have all my company and clients records stored online with a strong back up system implemented so that no data is permanently lost. As long as there is an internet in existence, my company will never need to store large quantities of papers for myself or my clients in a large file cabinet system. The online warehouse of data storage has replaced that need. My office is mobile, and I am able to work from home. I only need to commute in a car when I have meetings with my individual clients at their location. My use of gas and commuting to an office miles away from my home has reduced my environmental footprint. I encourage all of the vendors who bill the Associations’ that I manage to send me invoices via email as well. I’ve reduced the paper waste and disposal of my business operations significantly since I’ve began as an owner of my company in 2008. Jeff Deibler, CCAM’s Two new CCAM Certificates. Currently, I am pursuing the ultimate achievement for community association managers, the Master of Community Association Management (MCAM). It is the highest professional recognition available for California community association managers. I may be one of the first certified managers to achieve this recognition since it has been established. A minimum of six consecutive years as a CCAM is required by all applicants. I will publish this achievement here as soon as I receive it
We took a picture from our room at the Marriott in Oakland, CA while attending the CACM Northern California Law Seminar. It was a great view of the old Tribune Building and other old buildings in Oakland. The CACM (California Association of Community Managers, Inc.) is a great resource on all the New Homeowners Association Law's for 2017.
