As a body worker I can attest that this is 100% true. We hold our experiences and traumas in our bodies and carry the weight of our stories on a cellular level.... Body work (massage, self massage and fascial release) has effects far beyond our physical ailments. It happens more often than not in a therapeutic body work session that a person will have an emotional release, a flashback to a long buried experience or trauma. This type of work is incredibly powerful for us to move beyond issues we may not have even known we had. My teacher Chris @thaimassagebodywork calls this cleaning out your bag.
