ARM Mortgage Rates Average 3.02% Today's mortgage rates are near 75-week lows and are well-below historical averages. According to Freddie Mac, the 30-year fixed rate mortgage currently averages 4.02 percent; the 15-year fixed rate mortgage currently averages 3.20%; and the 5-year ARM currently average 3.02%.... The APR for some of today's loans are even lower as mortgage rates open this week near their lowest levels since June of last year. It's an excellent time to be a home buyer, or an existing homeowner looking to refinance. Low mortgage interest rates are helping to keep homeownership affordable nationwide.
