Want to know where your Economic Impact Payment is? The IRS has developed a new page on their website where you can track your payment. Phase 1 of the EIPs will begin this week. To help everyone check on the status of their payments, the IRS is building a second new tool expected to be available for use by April 17. Get My Payment will provide people with the status of their payment and allow eligible people the ability to update their direct deposit information.

So a few days ago we all heard that the IRS was allowing an extension of time to PAY taxes to 07/15/2020 but there was no extension of time to FILE, which meant the tax filing deadline was still 04/15/2020. Well as of this morning, the IRS has announced it will be extending the FILING & PAYMENT dates to 07/15/2020. I strongly urge those that have not filed yet to use this shelter in place time to pull together your documents and get in contact with your tax preparer. If yo...u are due a refund get the return filed ASAP b/c you’ll get your money when you need it most. Plus, in about a month, possibly 2 months, the tax preparers are going to be VERY busy causing unlikely delays in preparation/filing. For my clients specifically, I have notified each of you about using the secure web portal to scan & upload your docs for processing. I’m also available at home so text me when you’re headed over and I’ll be prepared to accept your docs in person. I just had this convo the other day with my husband. First Trump offered a free extension w/o penalty to those officially diagnosed. So now that the country has basically shut down...this was our next thought.
