This is Ze Laranja Creme, the new specialty drink for Ze Claudio, our new anaerobic Brazil research coffee from @manhattancoffeeroasters We take Ze Claudio as espresso with a dash of vanilla and orange, throw that over steamed cream and finish with a luxardo maraschino cherry. Each added ingredient was chosen specifically to highlight the inherent notes of this beautiful coffee. The result is a cozy, creamy sipping experience. It's like having your favorite orange creamsicle ...turned into a warm, winter bev! One of our baristas described the feeling of drinking it as that of hanging out in an old-timey candy shop and we couldn't agree more. All we're missing is a red and white striped shirt barber shop quartet! Come through to try this little dessert while its around and maybe get a little nostalgia for a time you probably didn't even experience!

So stoked to welcome this shredder to the line up of shapers we honorably work with here at Daydream! Derrick Disney has been crafting beautiful designs that walk the line between alternative and high performance. I had the pleasure of surfing his 7’11 MIDZR and was blown away by the speed, maneuverability, and forward stability. I’ve never felt a board with that much volume feel so responsive and capable of banking such tight turns. The twinzer set up comes from a custom te...mplate Derrick has been iterating with @101fins, the bamboo fin provides a unique flex pattern that makes smaller fins feel more like a flex fin (normally felt in fins much longer) while the small leading fin added so much drive and hold. It’s as if you can run shallower fins that create less drag yet hold so well through turns. But don’t take our word for it, one of each model is going into the Daydream Research Center for you to demo. Employee Spotlight: Tianna Ellis Tianna has been a member of the Daydream family since 2018! Tianna is one of those people that just makes you feel good to see, she has such a happy and uplifting vibe, having her hanging out behind the bar has made the shop feel like home for many of our regulars. What's your go to, favorite coffee bev right now? TE: My current favorite coffee bev is (and will probably always be) an iced hazelnut latte haha. I feel like it embodies who I am a...s a person, but also, there's a drink I like to make for people when they order a "one+fun" that has vanilla + tobacco bitters + chocolate powder and I'd say that comes close second to me depending on what kind of mood I'm in! What's your favorite place to get coffee on your day off? TE: I definitely love going over to Neat Coffee on my days off! Everyone there is great and I love supporting their sweet little community. Especially since I live so close by, it's nice to go on a little walk over and grab coffee in the mornings. What is your favorite part about working at Daydream? TE: I love working at Daydream because it's given me a safe space to just exist haha. It's given me an environment to be myself and stay creative and grow as a person. And it's given me the ability to do what I love for the shop; making coffee, taking photos, making friends. I'm just always surrounded by people I love, it's so wholesome and hard to find in an average job. The relationships I have built here are irreplaceable and I don't know what I would do without this community. I never would have expected to be where I am now when I first started working here, there has been so much growth in me and in Daydream and I can't wait to see what the future holds! What's one thing that the patrons of Daydream don't know about you? TE: One thing that maybe not everyone knows about me is that I love vintage. I've always been drawn to old things with stories, I find it all so interesting! I love being able to be involved with some of the vintage that we have here at the shop! I'd like to dive more into working in vintage clothing one day and grow my knowledge even further, I'm constantly learning so much.

It’s official! We’re partnering with @theecologycenter for their weekly Farm Share offerings! Want to pick up organic produce grown right here in Orange County? Starting in January, you’ll be able to get fresh, organic produce from The Ecology Center here at the shop. We’ll have more info on how you can sign up shortly. For now, check them out and visit the journal on their website to read a little interview we did with them. Couldn’t be happier to be partnering with such a rad institution!

Marine Portal Crews are live! We found a small run of vintage crewneck sweatshirts that oscillate across the color spectrum of the sea. Some are aquamarine, others like the deep depths of the Pacific Ocean, yet others like the crystal clear seas of the Mediterranean. Learn more through the link in our story.

Alex dropped off some new sleds! It’s always fun to see what Al has been working on, he’s one of those surfers/shapers who’s always innovating and exploring new concepts. The midlength on the left is like a smaller version of the Wayne Lynch inspired longboards he’s been making lately that looks really fast and playful to skip around on from nose to tail. The sled on the right is a shreddy little bonzer egg with a nicely balanced rocker profile, looks very approachable and feels like something you could really law down some solid turns on! We’ll have these boards up on our website soon. Cruise by the shop and check them out before they vanish like the rest of our sleds.

There’s nothing better than getting to tase our espresso with a side of barista freestyle. Our One and Fun is just that! Come experiment with us!

The Bensa 75 A take on the classic French 75 and named for the producing region of Bensa, Sidama, Ethiopia from which it's key ingredient, Asefa Dukamo as espresso, hails from. We take the Asefa Dukamo espresso (in place of gin or cognac) and shake it with fresh meyer lemon juice and raw simple syrup, strain it into a coupe or Nick & Nora, finish with sparkling water and peach bitters (to simulate the sparkling wine) and garnish with a lemon twist expression. This is an integral position in our cafe structure that works directly with our beverage director on team trainings, cafe structure improvement, and menu and drink development. We are looking for someone with plenty of specialty coffee experience, strong leadership skills, and a well developed palette.... This roll has huge room for growth both within Daydream and beyond. We want someone who is driven to succeed and improve; someone looking to be a vital part of the Daydream as well as contribute to it's advancement.
