Are you looking for a safe outdoor family activity this weekend? The Davis Cemetery is hosting a Dia de los Muertos event which includes informational signage, a public altar, and a pavement mural. Are you looking for something do you with your kids, while maintaining social distance from others? Since March 2020, the District has seen an increase in the number of families visiting the cemetery grounds. We have developed a 10 stop scavenger hunt as a way to support healthy outdoor activities for children and families. The scavenger hunt is designed to educate children about the history of our cemetery. Today I arrived at the office to find someone had left a question (see picture) on our office sign. I wanted to take this opportunity to answer. Question: What does COVID have to do with it? Answer: As an essential business, District employees are here Monday - Friday while the shelter in place order is active. While we normally close at 4pm, we are currently closed to the public one hour early (3pm) so we can clean and sanitize our restrooms, work areas, carts, and equipme...nt. A BIG THANK YOU to our staff who are going above and beyond during this unprecedented time to help keep our customers and employees healthy.
