Hard to believe we are on the Eve of JULY! Only about seven weeks until school starts again and we get back into our soccer mom routine. I coach soccer and have a limited schedule in the fall to get any real work done. IF you have a project, an annoying light switch or jammed disposal or door that won't close properly, let's git 'er done before we go back to the rat race! I went to help a buddy do some heavy lifting in San Dimas...his customer USED TO BE my customer 40 years ago! We had a really nice catch-up. This business has a lot of neat perks and one of them is lifetime connections with cool people. Nice folks. Their daughter is my FB friend. Small World.

I was working on a job the other day, and the folks had a ROOMBA robotic vacuum cleaner. I was rebuilding their shower valve and Roomba came in and I laughed out loud. I'm wondering who Roomba's their bathroom? I stopped laughing when I couldn't find the screws to reassemble the trim on the valve. YEP! I had to call for the homeowner to empty the Roomba into a bucket so I could sift through and find my screws among the dust, the dog hair and the cheerios! YUK!

It's already rained over 11 inches so now we need a break. The rain gutters and downspouts are by now jammed up and need attention. Many roof leaks are caused by standing water. One call and the rain will find its way OFF your roof before damage happens!

Busy weeks ahead before Christmas. Booking for 2018 already!

This morning, a home I restored to it's original intended glory will close escrow and become a young couple's first home. I am so happy for the new owners who will have so many happy years there, and I am also happy for the sellers, who will use the money they get out of the sale to fund their retirement. I had a blast, took my time, and when I visited the home the other day I was very pleased and proud to say I had done the work.

BUSY days...waning moments of a job that looks amazing considering the condition the home was in when I arrived. This home in Montebello, vacant for a year or more, was lived in by squatters. Such a mess. 8 trips to the dump, a couple gallons of cleaning concentrate, a lot of elbow grease, and 30 gallons of paint brought it back. I did the backyard clean up, had the trees trimmed, and once the carpet guys and the tile restoration guys are done, it will go on the market.

Weed abatement. This was once a "Field of Nightmares". Three foot tall weeds after the 18" of rain this last winter season. Once the weeds were pulled out, black plastic went down to smother the weed seeds and keep them from germinating...now, 50 bags of ground cover mulch will be slit and dumped, raked out flat and used as a play area with a playhouse and swing. Getting creative with problem areas!
