In response to the 'shelter in place' order, we've temporarily suspended in-studio classes. We plan to reopen as soon as the order is lifted. In the meantime, we're offering our classes online! See the lineup, and register and pay for classes here: https://www.danvilleyogawellnesscenter.com/online-classes As we go through the unknowns of what happens next, wed like to remind all of you of your great power as a spirit in this human body. More than ever, it's vitally important... that you remember to take care of yourself, in body, mind and spirit. Practice being in the present moment. As the "noise" in the news and all around us continues to build, please remember to check in with yourself, and remember who you are. Our mantra today (and yours if you want it) is, "Right now, in this moment, I am healthy. I am safe. I am happy. Everything in my life is perfectly fine." Please make a conscious effort to remain calm and centered through these interesting times. Please don't allow the fear and panic that surrounds us to distract you from your own present reality. And, please do your best to refrain from adding to the noise. You have the ability to counteract it, and be a force for positivity and change, through your individual effort. We can't control what's going on out there, but we can certainly control how we react. Sending you all so much LOVE!!! Namaste, Maria Haswell & Mark Haswell Owners of Danville Yoga & Wellness Center

"You do not need to know precisely what is happening, or exactly where it is all going. What you need is to recognize the possibilities and challenges offered by the present moment, and to embrace them with courage, faith, and hope." ~ Thomas Merton https://gratefulness.org//deepening-comfort-with-uncertai/

"One of the basic principles of yoga is that change and uncertainty are intrinsic aspects of life. The material world (prakrti), which includes your body-mind as well as other beings and external objects, is by its nature ever changing...From this basic acceptance, yoga offers us the possibility of liberation from the suffering associated with the ever-changing material world." http://yogaforhealthyaging.blogspot.com//the-biggest-yoga-

"It helps if we remember that life is one phase after another and that this difficult time will inevitably give way to something new and different. When we feel overwhelmed we can comfort ourselves with the wise saying: This too shall pass." https://www.dailyom.com/cgi-bin/display/articledisplay.cgi

"So how do we ease out of fear mode? This is what mindfulness was made for. Fear and anxiety often go hand-in-hand with dwelling on the past or worrying about the future. And the very nature of mindfulness is to notice when our thoughts drift ahead of or behind the present moment." https://www.mindful.org/primer-living-time-fear/

"When you practice good will, you remove fear and negative reactivity from your mind. For me, this is what is most important about many people practicing metta, together or individually, whenever it is necessary to reduce the conflict and hatred that emerge so quickly from fear and spread in a viral fashion." https://www.lionsroar.com/how-to-practice-metta-for-a-trou/
