The early birds get the Big Trees. Opening Day at #PeltzerPines was a bit different this year due to social distancing. This has been our tradition to go and get our trees and we had to get up at 3:30 am to get there by 5 am. We were about the 10th car in line. Advertised opening time was 9 am however we knew better. They allowed us in at 6:40 am and we got to take our time looking for the big boys. We got a 12+ footer, and two 8-9 footers for my mom and me. It was so much fun. Headlamps, flashlights, tree gloves and bundled up. Temperatures were about 52 degrees with a small wind chill. We will go back in about 2 week to cut them all down and bring home our gorgeous fresh cut trees.

Who else would love a swing chair like this in their home? Looks like the perfect cozy spot to me.

While we went to stalk the Christmas tree farm in Silverado, we enjoyed an 8 mile hike up Black Star Canyon Falls. I really do love my days off in Mother Nature.

I always try to take a personal day, I think it’s important for your health and well-being to just for a few hours set your phone down and put an away message on your email. We did just that this past week and took a short drive to Casper's, off the Ortega. We did that two days but different hikes. One day was nice 6.7 miles and the next was almost 8 miles. The disconnect and fresh air is needed during even the busiest of times!
