3 CRIMINAL CASES DISMISSED IN RICHMOND Dejon Brown, Dareron Brown, Johnathan Spragan Contra Costa County District Attorney Diane Becton. DA Becton personally reviewed the videos. TOP prosecutors in her office reviewed the videos. The Union supports the officer as a good officer. The video below is not Dejon it is Johnathan Spragan. He was arrested after the incident for being vocal in his opposition to what took place. An officer said, we have to arrest him for something and ...another officer said "face mask" (Even though two officers in the video have no mask) I am not in the article :] The quotes are from OKSANA TSYKOVA (pronounced Sik - OVa), a trial attorney in our group (Lawyers in Lafayette). Oksana was the attorney in the criminal case for Dejon Brown. https://www.mercurynews.com//days-after-officer-body-cam-/

December 6, 1865 is when the 13th Amendment was ratified. In terms of teaching young people about our constitution and history I like this as a starting point. This ended the old constitution and old court decisions which discussed slavery and its permutations. But, in reality it didn't. You can see the old constitution bleeding into the new one. You can see states and "state's rights" contradicting the 13th Amendment in practice. From a lawyer's perspective, this hist...ory informs decisions even today about voting rights, education, police conduct - most everything having to do with these issues. Absent that legal perspective I don't think the entire history can be understood and within that legal history are some of the clearest insights into the sociology and practices that existed in the past and which we inherit today. When people "celebrate" Juneteenth it is important to understand that not all people were "celebrating" that day in Texas, it was one of the last bastions of slavery to fall but not the last. I am going to start posting summaries of some of the key court decisions that show the boat anchor that was legally attached to our attempts to move forward as well as some of the notable decisions that did move us forward. Brown v. Board of Education is one of course. FEEL FREE ANYONE to cite, post or discuss any of these cases.

https://www.tmz.com//rayshard-brooks-shooting-booked-aggr/ The felony murder rule is one of the easiest ways to get a criminal conviction. The prosecutors do NOT have to prove an intent to kill. They prove an intent to commit the underlying crime and if a death arises in relation to that crime - it's felony murder. Somewhat paradoxically this often qualifies someone for the death penalty even though it is easy to prove.
