Kieran (Four Tet) was one of the first people I toured with when I was doing A Grape Dope in the early 2000s. We were on tour with Prefuse 73 and all traveling... in the same van. Lots of good memories of that tour. Kieran is super nice and easy to travel with. He was always digging in deep with the music, and it was great to experience that. I also have a place in my heart for him because I had his Late Night Tales mixtape and there's a lovely song I found out about by Max Roach's percussion ensemble, M'Boom. I didn't have the tracklist for the mixtape so I dug around and found the M'Boom LP, and found out that the title of the song is January V, which is my oldest son, Hollis' birthday and I think I cried, lol.
