Many of the Coucals are a lot alike , but I'm fairly sure this is a White Browed Coucal. It rained in the night so It's drying itself in the morning sun. I took far more pictures of birds than anything else. We woke to their calls and they sang us to sleep at night. Photographed in northern Tanzania.

In the old days a young Maasai worrier had to face and kill a Lion with a spear and his cow hide shield. This Lion is just a young fellow so you would need to do some scouting and find a really big one. The only way I might pull that off is if the Lion decided to have me for lunch, I got really scared and ran him to death, then stuck him with the spear after he was already dead. Now that I was a man I could go pick a wife. Thats when you face real danger.

Mother Mink takes a flying leap for the top of the Weir and makes it with ease, then glances over at me to make sure I'm still where I should be. Yup still in his chair looking through the long 8.

This Male Leopard was our fair-well big cat as the next day we were in Dar Es Salaam preparing to fly the next morning back to Amsterdam. He gifted us a few snarls and the birds provided a never-ending chorus of accompaniment. This creature is at once the most breathtakingly beautiful and predictably deadly animal I have ever had the pleasure to observe. Bon appetite big guy.

The colors the Maasai wear make wonderful images. This woman's cellphone caught in her dress as she walked, creating a great combination of reflected and translucent hues describing her motion. This is one of my favorite images from southern Tanzania.
