Hey out there are you cycling fanatics! It's Saturday and that means we meet up tomorrow morning for a ride out to Treasure Island. Since I'm racing to raise money for No Kid Hungry this Sunday we're only having one ride, and it's the Treasure Island coffee ride. The only difference is that this time our mechanical superstar Daniel will be leading the ride! Same route as always, same pace as always. Bring a friend, bring a frenemy, or come meet some new people! And as always,... bring what you need for a 20mi ride. Helmet, water, some cash (for the coffee) and anything else you normally would. Treasure Island Ride: ~20mi round trip with a coffee stop on Treasure Island. Go as hard as you like on the bridge, but we're generally riding at about a 15-16mph pace on the flats. We regroup at the lookout on the far side of the bridge and from there head over to the island for a coffee at Aracely where we stop for about 20 minutes. Hill Ride this weekend! We're changing things up this year at Cycle Sports and that includes adding a new optional route and ride leader. Our very own superstar mechanic Daniel will be leading a more challenging loop through the Oakland hills for those of you who don't want to take it easy out to Treasure Island for coffee. Same meeting time of 7:45am and roll out at 8am sharp. Bring enough fitness and snacks to make it through 24mi with 2600+ft of climbing in under 2.5 hou...rs. Make sure you have everything you could need for any mechanical issues. The ride will regroup at the tops of climbs. Not a beginner ride! Bring a friend if you'd like and we'll see you Sunday unless it rains.
