Recipes and cooking times differ widely, but this customer said hers took about 1.5-2 hours! Coming at ya with a fun #freshfriday recipe: roasted poblano and corn chowder. Try it for yourself! Ingredients: - carrots - corn... - celery - poblano pepper - onion - potato - garlic - white wine - milk - butter - flour - salt & pepper Directions: - remove corn kernels - chop carrots - dice onion - chop garlic - chop celery - dice potatoes - roast poblano, immediately place in bag to steam it, then remove skin after about 5-10 minutes - dice poblano - cook flour and butter together until blonde color forms and it becomes thicker - saute your veggies - season with s&p - add wine and simmer - add potatoes and poblanos and cover on simmer for 8-10 minutes - add milk and bring to simmer - whisk in the flour and butter mixture Serve in a bowl with microgreens and ENJOY! Have you ever seen these beautifully vibrant Yellow and Pink oyster mushrooms in person? Your answer is likely "no" because they have a very short shelf life and therefore are not regularly sold in supermarkets, making them all the more special. They're found wildly in Asia, but we're grateful to have local gourmet mushrooms grown year round for us by Yucca Valley's Canyon Creek Mushrooms.... Just like all of CCMs' gourmet mushrooms, the pink and yellow oysters are fantastic simply sautéed and lightly seasoned. But you can do more with them too! Pink oysters aka Salmon oyster, Flamingo oyster, and Strawberry oyster have a meaty and chewy texture when cooked, similar to ham! That's why they make a great alternative to meat on Hawaiian pizza, grilled cheese, BLTs, & potato soup. With a little effort these can even be cooked down and flavored into a vegan bacon bit. Yellow oysters also go by Golden oyster mushrooms, Il’mak in Russian, and Tamgitake in Japanese. They are a delicate mushroom, which makes it easy to break apart and sprinkle on a salad, into a soup, or onto any cooked dish. When cooked, the mushroom developed a nutty cashew-like flavor that pairs well with other mushrooms. So, what are you going to do with your Yellow and Pink oysters?
