My Curves journey...... I have been a regular member of Curves since October 2006 with Fulham Gardens Curves being my fourth Curves Gym. Exercise and diet ha...s always been a part of my life, and in early days, I enjoyed hockey, softball, walking, netball, tennis and stints at regular gyms. When I moved to Adelaide, I joined Curves initially because I liked the idea of only 30 minutes with twice around the circuit and my workout & cool-down was over. The fact that I could vary my times and days was also an incentive. After joining, I soon realised that Curves was for me for a number of reasons and the longer I have been a member, the positives have grown. Fulham Garden Curves is an exceptional gym, due to the highly motivated, caring, professional, personable and knowledgeable staff. Julie leads a great team and, as a result, I leave my workout after each visit on a high, and I know that I have worked all parts of my body (including my head). What keeps me attending are: flexibility with choice of times and types of classes like minded cohort makes for enjoyable connections in the gym community encouragement and support from other members and staff no pressure work at own pace and take extra activities that are provided fun time in classes and many laughs, promoting a social community which is great for mental health staff regularly on the floor, correcting and/or assessing workouts to ensure exercises are correctly performed personal trainer the wide range of ages to interact with and appreciate the variety of other events that are offered and take up if desired I feel Curves offers a complete package for the well being of my body and mental health which I have not experienced in other gym/exercise classes. As a result of a long connection with Curves, I have learnt so much about how exercise helps me, in posture, balance, discipline, determination, health, diet and mental health. I feel I know the needs of my body pretty well and I am continually gaining knew information and points from the staff. I have continued to be very active with walking, cycling, golfing, grandchildren and Curves assists me in being able to continue with all of the above, particularly providing opportunities in twisting, bending, reaching, balance and stretching which I tend to be not so conscious of.
