Repost from @springstudios Today, the 19th anniversary of 9/11, is a day of remembrance and a reminder of the persistence of the human spirit. We will #neverforget the events that occurred that day, and all those who lost or sacrificed their lives to protect others. In doing so, we look back on Agnes Denes’ 1982 Land Art project called Wheatfield A Confrontation. Denes turned the landfill of Battery Park, essentially infertile rubble from the construction of the WTC, in...to a fertile wheat field where more than 1,000 pounds of wheat were harvested. That wheat would go on to travel around the world and be given to people so they could plant their own seeds. Hope grows even from the unlikeliest of places. Photo by Donna Svennevik
