This year's Delta Queen is less than two weeks away! We've got a great show planned out with fun performances and hosts in-character from our theme, Back to the Future. Student tickets are $9 and general are $15 and can be purchased at www.chapmandeltaqueen.com. Also available are tickets to our VIP Reception with access to an open wine bar before the show, as well as first crack at our silent auction items, which include weekend stays at some of Orange County's nicest beach resorts. CONTESTANT SPOTLIGHT: Melena is a senior Communication Studies major and a Broadcast Journalism minor and is a member of the Black Student Union on campus. She is from Las Vegas, Nevada. She loves television and is very passionate about creating programming that address substantial issues. Being one of the first black women to compete in Delta Queen, she is competing in the pageant in hopes of encouraging other women of color to participate in the coming years. Post-Graduation, Melena plans to stay in the L.A. area and work in entertainment. She is thrilled to represent Delta Gamma, and is having a ball raising money for JDRF: Diabetes research! #deltataudelta #deltaqueen

Representing the ladies of Alpha Phi is Isabella Zelinger. Isabella is a senior Business Administration major with a minor in Psychology. She is from the small, quaint city of Los Angeles where her parents, little sister, and high maintenance dogs reside. Isabella enjoys singing just about any song at any hour of the day, discussing people's zodiac signs, and going out for sushi. Her friends and family mean more to her than an In-N-Out cheese burger, though the cheese burger ...is a close second. Post-graduation, Isabella is going to travel the world one last time before she has to be a "big kid" and will eventually start applying to jobs in commercial real estate. Representing Pi Beta Phi is Kylie Walker. Kylie is a senior communication major. Her two strongest passions include journalism and philanthropy. Since a very young age, Kylie has been interested in pursuing a broadcasting career and using her voice to change the lives of those around her. Kylie's mother is a stage 3 cancer survivor, which has made Kylie passionate about working with cancer patients. Kylie gave the opening speech for the Relay for Life cancer walk alongside he...r mother this past summer. She is currently working on getting an internship with Seacrest Studios at CHOC. In her free time, Kylie enjoys spending time in her hometown of Newport Beach with her family, friends, and dogs. Kylie feels honored to represent Pi Beta Phi in this year's Delta Queen in order to raise money and awareness for the Juvenille Diabetes Research Foundation. CONTESTANT SPOTLIGHT: Representing the Gamma Phi Beta Sorority is Brenny Sypolt. Brenny is a junior BFA Screen Acting major with a minor in Broadcast Journalism. She has a passion for storytelling and cannot wait to pursue a career as an actress and journalist. When not working on student films, she loves to cook, travel, Greek Dance, and do Pilates. She is originally from Chicago and misses her Big Fat Greek family every day (and deep dish pizza). This past spring, Brenny st...udied abroad in London and caught the travel bug! She visited 7 countries while overseas, and she can't wait to travel even more after graduation. Brenny feels strongly about serving her community, having participated in Meals on Wheels, Feed My Starving Children, and started a coat drive in her home town for those less fortunate. CONTESTANT SPOTLIGHT: Representing Delta Delta Delta is Amanda Moore. Amanda is a senior Integrated Educational Studies major with minors in Disabilities Studies and Sociology. She enjoys long walks on the beach, anything Disney, and sweet potato fries. She took an interterm class in Florence, Italy and was bit by the travel bug and hopes to travel post graduation. Amanda is a peer advisor within the College of Education and is a children's theater teacher. She also has a pas...sion for volunteerism and is a volunteer at CHOC Children's Hospital. Amanda works in the hospital's playrooms and at Turtle Talk with Crush. Amanda hopes to either be an elementary school teacher or a pediatric health educator. Contestant Spotlight: Representing Kappa Kappa Gamma is Sara Crossman! Sara is a sophomore who is double majoring in Dance Performance and Strategic and Corporate Communication, and was raised in Palos Verdes, California. Before dancing, Sara earned her black belt in Taekwondo and trained in the sport for 4 years. She earned a silver medal in sparring at Junior Olympics, but did, indeed, cry quite heavily before the fight. At Chapman, Sara is currently grooving on two of the ...school's dance teams, Team Shaka and Floor 13! After graduating, Sara is motivated to find a career path in LA that will potentially allow her to combine her love of dance or the entertainment industry with advertising and message design. When faced with difficult situations, Sara makes an effort to find humor and optimism in each circumstance so she is always given something to laugh about. Throughout the time leading up to Delta Queen 2017, we will spotlight contestants. Representing Alpha Gamma Delta is Melina Coto. Melina is a junior Creative Producing major with minors in Television and Spanish. She hopes to one day use television to tell stories that challenge societal stigmas and bring people together. At Chapman she's currently a Campus Tour Guide and the Director of Recruitment for the Panhellenic Executive Council. She was raised in a Cuban-American fam...ily - which explains her love for Pitbull and Porto's Bakery. In high school, Melina was a part of National Charity League, an organization for mothers and daughters to work with local charities. This is where Melina's passion for philanthropic work began. In Orange, you can often find Melina singing in her car, eating a churro at Disneyland, or creating a delicious toppings combo at Pizza Press. This semester Melina is interning at Spike TV in their Development & Current Programming Department. She loves being a part of several campus organizations such as a Chapman Ambassadors, and being an Orientation Leader for Chapman's incoming students. Abbie is looking forward to being a research assistant in a psychology lab this semester as well as interning for the non-profit organization, CASA, which sh...e is extremely passionate about. After college Abbie plans to work in Human Resources for a large corporation. She loves Disneyland, watching the TV show Friends, eating Pizza Press, anything that is sparkly and pink, and hanging out with friends. Everyday leading up to Delta Queen 2016, we will spotlight a contestant. Today, the spotlight is on Lexi DiCicco for Delta Queen 2016. Representing Delta Delta Delta is Lexi DiCicco. Lexi is a senior business marketing major with a minor in broadcast journalism and law. Lexi enjoys the beach, crafting, dancing, spending time with friends and family, and has a passion for travel. She studied abroad in Australia and visited Indonesia during her studies. Lexi recently interned ...for The Ryan Seacrest Foundation at CHOC and has worked on campus as an academic mentor. She has a sister with Down Syndrome, so she has a strong passion for working with various organizations that support kids and adults with special needs. She hopes to go to law school and work in either entertainment or business law. Lexi is honored to represent Tri Delta and is looking forward to assisting Delta Tau Delta in their philanthropic efforts to support Charity: Water. See more

Everyday leading up to Delta Queen 2016, we will spotlight a contestant. Today, the spotlight is on Claudia Doucette for Delta Queen 2016. Representing Pi Beta Phi is Claudia Doucette. Claudia is a sophomore vocal/opera performance major and an Integrated Educational Studies minor from Fullerton, CA. She has been passionate about singing and performing from a very young age and wants to travel to Europe to start an opera career. Claudia also loves to serve her community. Throughout high school, she worked with multiple philanthropies, such as Meals on Wheels and the ChocWalk, through her involvement in National Charity League. Claudia is excited to represent her chapter at Delta Queen and promote Delta Tau Delta's efforts for Charity: Water.

Everyday leading up to Delta Queen, we will spotlight a contestant. Today, the spotlight is on Emma Foss for Delta Queen 2016. This year's representative for the Gamma Phi Beta Sorority and the Pi Kappa Alpha Fraternity is Emma Foss. Emma is a sophomore studio art major with a minor in human biology. With these two very opposite subjects, she hopes to be able to combine her love for both art and science with a career in medical and biological illustration. As an art major, Emma occupies most of her time drawing and painting, loving everything that involves creativity. As Miss Tustin 2014, Emma is not new to pageants or serving her community and is thrilled to have the opportunity to represent her sorority and help raise money for Charity: Water.

Thank you all for your support and dedication to make this event happen. Representing Phi Sigma Sigma & Fiji is Nico Lozano. Nico is a senior Integrated Educational Studies major from Irvine, CA. While at Chapman, Nico has been the co-founder of the Commuters Club, a middle school tutor, and a shift leader at Casey's Cupcakes. She hopes to one day be an elementary school principal. Nico enjoys going to Disneyland, going to the movies, and spending time with family and friends. She is excited to participate in the pageant and be able to work with everyone involved in making this event a huge success. Representing Kappa Kappa Gamma and Alpha Epsilon Pi is Meredith Miller. Meredith is a freshman Dance major from Grapevine, Texas. Meredith is heavily involved in dance as a participant in Airbands and So You Think You Can Diabeat This, a member of Chapman Dance Alliance, and a dance teacher at The Music Room. Meredith enjoys beach trips, traveling, going to the gym, and chilling with her dog, and hopes to be a professional dancer and choreographer. Morgan hopes to one day be a producer on The Ellen Degeneres Show. Representing Gamma Phi Beta is Annie Newman. Annie is a sophomore Integrated Educational Studies major from Alamo, CA. Since being diagnosed with an autoimmune disease, Annie has become passionate about natural health and would like to open up a health clinic that looks at each person holistically, providing naturopathic medicine, acupuncture, aromatherapy, counseling, yoga, and nutritional guidance. Representing Delta Delta Delta & Beta Theta Pi is Taylor Krause. Taylor is a junior Chemistry major from San Diego, CA. Taylor has been a part of Women in Science & Technology, American Chemical Society, National Society of Collegiate Scholars, Student Government Association, and Global Medical Brigades. In her future, Taylor plans to implement sustainability into developing communities through environmentalism. She is excited to be a part of DQ because she is very passionate... about raising awareness and fundraising for organizations with valuable initiatives, like JDRF. Her dad was diagnosed with type one diabetes, and with her and 2 younger brothers all very susceptible to developing diabetes she know that it has a more than worthwhile cause. She feels that DQ is also a representation of influential women on campus and an opportunity for them to personally develop organizational and other skills and grants them the potential to make a difference and spread awareness for a worthwhile organization. Representing Alpha Phi & Phi Delta Theta is Jillian Hunt. Jillian is a senior Strategic Corporate Communications major from Bellevue, WA. Throughout her time at Chapman, Jillian has been a member of Order of Omega, an Alumni Discovery Ambassador, a dance teacher, a barista, and an intern with PR and humanitarian organizations. Jillian enjoys being outdoors, whether it’s hiking, skiing, or hanging out on the beach. She also loves dogs and volunteering in the community. Jillian’s goal is to be the head of an international non-profit. Representing Alpha Gamma Delta & Phi Kappa Tau is Jackie Diebold. Jackie is a sophomore Dance and Strategic Corporate Communications double major from Morgan Hill, CA. While at Chapman, Jackie has been involved with Toxique, Chapman Dance Alliance, and is a Guest Relations Assistant at the Union and Fitness Center. She is also involved with Dancers Against Cancer. After being diagnosed with a bone tumor at age 10, Jackie would like to work for a medical firm as a pharmaceutical sales representative. Jackie has always had the secret desire to be in a pageant and is thrilled to be able to represent her sorority and be a positive role model while raising funds for a philanthropic cause.
