Pack at Sweetwood Camp (Half Moon Bay)
Our scouts did a great job helping to open the city council meeting by posting flags and leading the pledge of allegiance.
Pack 132 Cub scouts and siblings made holiday cards which will be given to residents at Heritage Inn Assisted Living when they do some caroling on Sunday.

Hello Pack 132! Orienteering at Huddart Park this Sunday is through the Bay Area Orienteering Club. It is not an official Cub Scouts event, but it is one that ties in with a lot of scouting skills, is relatively local, and is a lot of fun. http://baoc.org/wiki/Schedule/2018/Huddart_Park... In orienteering, "the thinking sport," you use a map and compass to navigate a course through unfamiliar terrain, using electronic punching to track your journey. People of all ages enjoy orienteering as a leisurely walk in the woods or as a competitive cross-country race. This is a standard 7-course event, which means it runs from Beginner through Advanced. Registration begins at 9am. Beginners' clinics are held about every 10 minutes and begin at 9:30am. And the course opens at 10am. Plan to arrive at 9:30am and begin when the course opens at 10am. Contact Jenn Sheridan if you want to walk the course as a larger group (Message to get contact info) But of course you can always come on your own schedule, just plan to arrive before Registration closes at noon. The course will close at 2pm. PLEASE REMEMBER THAT DAYLIGHT SAVINGS ENDS AT 2AM ON SUNDAY. Hope to see you Sunday! Jenn (and Aidan and Devan) You can find the fee schedule here: http://baoc.org/wiki/FAQ/How_much_does_it_cost%3F and the registration form here: http://baoc.org/pdfs/entry_form.pdf
Pack hike to the top of sugarloaf last night. We talked about 6 essentials, other scout requirements and were treated to a spectacular view!
$10 for a bag of popcorn is expensive!!! Understand that of that $10, 37% goes directly to Pack 132 scouting activities and 30% goes to Pacsky Council, which serves youth in all of San Mateo county and northern Santa Clara county. So remember that the popcorn costs about $3.30 and you are donating $6.70 towards the development of good character and strong leadership in our young individuals. Support Pack 132 scouting!!! ... Our Cub scouts will be at Whole Foods in San Mateo this weekend (9/22 & 9/23) from 11-3
Our Cub Scouts may be good at asking for your support to buy popcorn, but they may not be 100% sure on the nutritional details. Support local scouting! https://www.trails-end.com/nutritional-facts
As busy parents, caring adults and Pack 132 volunteers, we don't always get to hear how our scout advances through the cub scout program. While outlined in the respective Cub Scout Den Handbooks (available in the District Store in Foster City), this link provides a good 5 minute summary. https://www.scouting.org//mechanics-of-advan/cub-scouting/
Pack 132 will be holding the first planning meeting of the year on Monday, August 6th at 7:00 pm. **Send a message and we will provide the location. The main agenda item will be getting everything set up for recruiting at the three schools we primarily support:... North Shoreview Fiesta Gardens Sunnybrae See everyone soon!
As we prepare for summer, let’s review some beach safety. https://oceantoday.noaa.gov/ripcurrentsafety/ I’m sure a discussion with your scout will cover a requirement or elective.
