For the past six years, Professor Smith has been the Program Director for MS Accountancy where he took the program to such great heights. And was recently published in the Journal of Information Systems Link in profile for Dean Solt's announcement and Professor’s Smith publication.

Students and Staff meet Adrian Escobar. He is in the Marketing Analytics program and owns a small 2-person digital marketing business where he manages social media and designs websites for other small businesses. Adrian has given us his 2-cents when it comes to online learning during the pandemic: When asked how learning online is, Adrian explains "Online learning has been difficult at times, as there are more distractions at home than being inside a classroom. Besides this..., it has taught me how to adapt to different ways of learning. This is my first time taking online classes in the past 7 years". He adds "Although I’m learning a lot more and becoming skilled in marketing analytics, I wish I had the chance to socially interact in person with my classmates and professors" We then asked if he wanted to be on campus and where he would go first. His answer: "Of course I want to be on campus! The first place I would go to are the COB tables. I miss studying there and relaxing. Our CSULB Saturday MBA program focuses on sustainability and disruptive technology, designed to prepare mid-career professionals to transform companies through innovation. According to Michael Wang (CIO & VP Digital Innovations, Epson America), I think MBAs would benefit greatly from general background in data science understanding that data is the new currency in business and that the ability to exploit the data available to you as an organization (e.g. from enterprise sy...stems, IoT devices, customers, competitors) is a key competitive advantage. Real data science gets to be highly technical but giving MBAs an understanding of what’s possible through data science will allow them to tackle business issues, devise new business models, or improve products / services as a result. Under this umbrella would be data visualization skills and big data analytics skills. Michael Wang goes on to say Another pillar for today’s digital age, where all processes are digital would be an understanding of enterprise information technology fundamentals, including cloud computing, and how technology (especially emerging tech AI, ML, etc.) will lead to entirely new types of companies with new business models. We know applying to graduate school may be a little nerve racking, so here are some tips to get you going: Apply as soon as you can. We understand you may need time to think about if this is the year you want to start your graduate career, but make sure you get that application in on time. Make certain that your recommendations are good ones. You get to pick what professors or employers write a letter of recommendation for you, so choose wisely. Meet Riley Bui She is an AMBA XVI student and our next #StudentFeature With all of her classes online, Riley had her first visit to campus ever half way through the semester. Here's a little bit about her experience: "I absolutely loved everything about campus. What I liked most about the campus was how open it is. There are plenty of outdoor spots in the shade, sun with easy access to WiFi. I really liked this stair pathway between the student union and shark tanks picture...d below. The campus is so green and I like to be in nature. Also, it is a well rounded school. The arts, theatre, recital hall, marine sciences, college of business, Japanese garden with the Koi pond, huge gym, and more all impressed me. The pyramid where the sport events are held is iconic and a short walk away is the music department where I heard someone practicing."
