Happy birthday to the late Sifu Jason Taylor! He would have turned 46 today had cancer not taken him from us way too soon. For those who got to train with him, you know what a positive force he was in our practices. His calm teaching style, intellectual approach to combat, and skill at both blunt and bladed weapons made him an asset for our club. What was your favorite memory of him? Comment below!
This week marks the 47th anniversary of Bruce Lee's death. Here's how you can watch "Be Water," the recent ESPN documentary about his life.
Not Kung Fu-related, but here's a little stunt video that Sifu Patrick Vuong was a part of. We figured since the world's most famous Filipino Martial Arts practitioner was a kung fu master (Bruce Lee), you guys might get a "kick" out of this. Let us know if you spot Sifu Patrick https://youtu.be/7iFBxAu_V2w
Did any of you catch the recent Bruce Lee documentary on ESPN? If so, what did you think of it? https://www.espn.com//29266/could-bruce-lee-win-real-fight
Hmm, another Bruce Lee-inspired sneaker. This one from Shaq and Reebok. Thoughts?
#ThrowbackThursday Sifu Craig Ihara's demonstration of Heaven and Earth as featured in a Daily Titan article, circa 1980s.
Agree or disagree?
These weapons aren't in our system, but they're still cool nonetheless.
Who knows this feeling?
This poses some many questions about situational awareness!
Self-defense includes home defense. Be cautious and maintain that "Kung Fu Awareness," folks.
It's important to remember that while most of us practice kung fu for the cultural, artistic, and health benefits there will always be evil in this world. Maintain your "kung fu awareness" and practicing your "running horse" if you can, but be willing and able to defend yourself if forced to do so. #kungfu #selfdefense #coronavirus
Even if the bars or pubs are closed in your area on St. Patrick's Day, there's still plenty of reason for people to get drunk these days. Watch how poorly this paramedic, despite his training, handles these four drunken youths and see what lessons you can learn from his violent encounter.
Curious to see for how many this is true? And replace "karate" with "kung fu" or "martial arts."
