The meeting went well! Big thanks to Minette for attending, and being key this last month. We are ready to get back to work and finish this park! Watch for the next big dig weekend coming up soon!

We are down to discussing the gate, and 5 dollar water bill. Truly piddly stuff now. We'll be ready to finish up this place soon!

Crows Nest entry in the Christmas In the Valley gingerbread competition!

VC Board meeting in the books. It went well. All major points were agreed upon. We will make a couple minor edits to the MOU based on the long discussion. Minette did a great job preparing the MOU. And I did my best dancing with the board members questions/comments. The holidays are going to slow down the process of getting the approval done. But all that should be out of the way mid Dec. That's when we can plan the next dig weekend! Just a couple more dig weekends and we will open it up for good!

November 16 will be the VC board meeting. We could use the love and support of the cycling community!

Update on the Crows Nest. Today was the big meeting between myself (Steve) and Doug (Valley Center Parks manager). There has been a lot of talk and opinion spin...ning behind the scenes. This was a chance for the 2 principals in this project, to have a meeting of the minds. The meeting lasted a couple hours. There were multiple issues to discuss. But the main point of contention was the issue of insurance after the park is open. I'm happy to report that we have reached an agreement on this all important subject. There will be no insurance required from the cycling community once the park is open. This is a public park, and will be under public insurance. Just as every other public park is. This avoids setting a dangerous precedent for future projects in the county. Many other minor topics were talked through. There are no insurmountable hurdles on the table anymore. We are moving forward with a new written agreement that will be submitted to the board for approval Nov 16th. Very shortly after that we will commence working on the site. It is VERY close to being open. Only a couple more days of solid work with lots of volunteers, should be able to get this open. Please keep an eye out for the work days, and come help out! Let's get the 1st flagship public bike park opened up in San Diego county. Then we can duplicate this effort throughout San Diego!

I'm trenching all the lines this morning. Anyone available to bring the pipe from Escondido to the bike park?

I've arranged all the materials we need to get water back to the Crows Nest! I just need someone with a full size truck willing to pick up from Escondido. Is that you? Do you have any experience tying into a meter, and running water pipe? If so, I could really use your assistance ASAP!

Memorial day testing and planning.

Week 2 with no work done. Let's change that. I want to open! We have a meter in place now. Gofundme donations made that happen We just need the PVC(1"+) to go from the meter to the park. Upwards of 400 yards. Calling all SD riders! Someone must know someone...let's get this place open!
