CANNED FOOD DRIVE FOR THE HOMELESS. The week of AUGUST 3rd 7th is definitely going to be filled with a lot of activity but we want to pause and look at the great need that is right in front of us. In the midst of this uncertain time CCA would like to promote a service project 2 of our High School students have taken upon themselves to lead. Anthony Zuo and Kaede Shimizu are partnering with CITY TEAM to collect canned foods and masks for the Homeless population in our local... cities. CCA will have a collection barrel for canned foods and a receptacle for masks during the week of Aug. 3rd 7th in our lobby for you to drop off any donations. Everything collected will be given to the hardest hit group during this pandemic, the homeless. When you come by the school, if you can, please bring a canned good or non-perishable item to help our community and encourage our students as they seek to show God’s love to others. We will have demonstrations of mask-making without a sewing machine! Attached are flyers that provide more information about the organization and this particular service project. Calling all Dog Lovers! Even during this SIP, our CCA DOG CLUB is hard at work taking care of the needs of Man's Best Friend! The DOG CLUB focuses on raising money to purchase food, flea pills, treats, etc. for homeless pets. Shirts are $25, and all net proceeds will go towards purchasing supplies for homeless pets. Our cities are hurting right now and we need to pray for those who feel they have no voice and no options. We need to look for opportunities where we can make a difference, whether through public policy or in the life of one person at a time. We live this life on earth to be salt and light, to show compassion and understanding and share that God values us all equally. Pray for healing, peace, protection and understanding during this time of unrest in our cities.

Alumnus Leo Li, is currently in a graduate program at the Johns Hopkins School of Medicine, Division of Health Sciences Informatics. His project team has developed their very first start-up that would bring great social impact to the off-grid communities around the world. They plan to build sustainable, affordable lights that draw power from scrap metal, an ideal lighting solution for off-grid homes around the world. Their project, METAL LIGHT, won the Grand Prize at a prest...igious competition on the east coast this year and is currently in the running for another award.
