Walk-Up Door-Side service is available Monday through Friday to pick up requested materials with no appointment required! Check out books, movies, and CDs requ...ested through our online system or by calling a branch. When items are ready for pick up, customers will receive an automatic notice via email, phone, or print mail. How It Works Step 1: Request a book, movie, or CD at sdcl.org or by calling your local branch. Step 2: You will receive a notice by email, phone call, or print mail saying that your items are ready for pickup. Step 3: Visit the library Monday through Friday, 10 a.m.-4 p.m., and go to the door-side pickup area. Please bring your library card or government ID and note that properly worn facial coverings and physical distancing are required for all staff and customers. Step 4: Wait in the designated area for a staff member to assist you. Step 5: Enjoy your materials! Due dates for SDCL materials have been extended to February 3, 2021.
Starting on Monday December 7, 2020 and under the guidance of the California Department of Public Health, San Diego County Libraries will provide Walk Up Door Side service Monday to Friday, 10 a.m. - 4 p.m. at all 33 branches. More information at SDCL.org/service
SDCL is excited to expand its library services at all 33 branches! Branches will offer limited in-person services on Tuesdays, Wednesdays, and Thursdays from 1...0 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. and from 1:30 p.m. to 4 p.m. The sanitation break from 12:30 p.m. to 1:30 p.m. allows for the cleaning of public spaces within the buildings. Walk-up, door-side services are available on Mondays and Fridays, 10 a.m.-4 p.m. Services offered, with certain limitations, include computer use, Wi-Fi access, printing and copying, holds pickup, access to books, movies, and CDs for checkout, and materials returns. Great news, No appointments are needed! San Diego County Library is now providing walk-up door-side services at all 33 branches. How It Works ... Your San Diego County Library branch now offers Door-side pickup. This is an appointment-based service where customers can set up a time to check out books, movies, and CDs that they requested prior to closure. This is only for materials that we currently have ready for customers to pick up. How it works: ... Step 1: If you had items on the request shelf at one of the available locations on the day the library closed, you will be contacted by library staff to set an appointment to pick up thes items. You do not need to call the library- our staff will call you if you have items to pick up. Step 2: Staff will provide pickup instructions when they make your appointment. Please note that masks and social distancing will be required for all staff and customers. Step 3: Arrive at your appointed time follow signs to the Door-Side Pickup area. Library staff will provide you with your materials, which will already be checked out to you. Step 4: Enjoy your materials!
