Wow, what a busy, and fun day at Crestavilla! Scavenger Hunt Day 7 and Wine down the Coast. Many of our Residents joined us for our work out classes to find out the next clue, the letter B. In the afternoon they enjoyed a Napa Wine tasting with Educated Guess, 2018 Cabernet Sauvignon paired with a bite of Roast Beef Crostini, whole grain Mustard Aioli. They then tried Stag‘s Leap Wine Cellars 2018 Chardonnay- Karia paired with grilled Vegetable Crostini, and Mascarpone Pesto. Take a bite out of life! CHEERS! #crestavilla #funday #ourresidentsrule

Crestavilla Scavenger Hunt Day 6: we had many Residents participating in the Scavenger Hunt the last couple of days! Our residents absolutely love to drink healthy juices and exercise. This past weekend we served our healthy juice, The Green Machine, consisting of Cucumber , Celery, Green Apple , and a splash of Lemon Juice . It took our residents’ taste buds to another level! The next clue is the letter, N. We are getting close to the finale and eager to learn the next clue. #crestavilla #scavengerhunt #funoctober #ourresidentsrule

Crestavilla Scavenger Hunt Day 5- We offered a total Body Workout, the Walking Club and Tai Chi to our Residents to receive the next clue. We passed out letters to our exercising participants with the next clue, the letter E. Many of our Residents are so eager to find the result of the Scavenger Hunt! They are having so much fun enjoying our month of Health and Exercise! Wait for the next clue..... #crestavilla #healthandwellness #ourresidentsrule

Crestavilla Scavenger Hunt Day 4- our Residents enjoyed a Carrotini (Carrots, green Apples, a tiny bit of Olive Oil, and Ginger) over the weekend. We would also like to honor everyone that participated in our Alzheimer‘s Walk with us this weekend. Our residents found out that the next clue is the letter I. We loved seeing everyone enjoying their healthy juices. We cannot wait to share the next clue!! #crestavilla #wellness #ourresidentsrule

Sunday, October 11th Alzheimer‘s Walk at Crestavilla! Today was the walk to benefit Alzheimer’s with all our Residents invited to walk around our community. It was an exciting morning with healthy food and refreshing stations prepared for the walk. Thank you very much for all the donations that were given to Atria Signature Team for the Alzheimer’s Association. Yappy Hour at Crestavilla! So much fun to see all the dogs, cats, and birds that live at Crestavilla celebrating Yappy Hour with us today! We welcomed: Dax, Sophie, Macy, KC, and Babe the Cockatoo. Puppuccinos and dog treats were served for our furry Residents. And can you believe it Babe is a 42 year old Cockatoo!! Crestavilla October Scavenger Hunt Day 3- today our Residents had to sign up for a Core Exercise class to receive their next Clue. Scavenger Hunt Day 2 - the residents at Crestavilla were very eager to find out the next clue in our Scavenger Hunt! Oktoberfest at Crestavilla ! Today, we invited all of our residents to enjoy traditional Bavarian Food to celebrate Oktoberfest. Oktoberfest is the largest Volksfest celebrated in München. It began in 1810 as a Wedding celebration that lasted for several days between the Crown Prince Ludwig and Princess Therese of Saxony-Hildburghausen. Since then it has become an annual tradition that many around the world celebrate as well. Our residents enjoyed a tasty beer with traditional food. Literary for Culinary Happy Hour at Crestavilla: Mrs.Scully presented a short story today written by Alice Elliott Dark In the Gloaming. The story focuses on a mother coming to terms with her son dying of AIDS. The son remembers things from his childhood that his mother had told him. She had told him that the time just before it gets dark was called gloaming in Scotland. Throughout the story a unique family dynamic is captured and in the end of the story the mother gets t...o see that her son has loved and was loved in return. Mrs.Scully has found her passion of literature as a teacher and remembers this story fondly as it depicts the love of and for a child through the mother’s eyes. Change is inevitable. Growth is optional, is a quote from John C. Maxwell that sums up the short story. Mrs.Scully will be holding a class about stories similar to this one.
