An atmospheric river will taking aim at Oregon later today and tonight, and will drift south into far northwestern California heading into Tuesday. The heaviest... amounts are expected to be restricted to mostly northern Humboldt and Del Norte counties, along with the King Range. With rivers still running rather low, main-stem river flooding is not expected, but rises on area streams and rivers should be anticipated. Some minor flooding in areas of poor drainage, such as low-lying fields, urban areas, and near small streams is possible during and shortly after any periods of particularly heavy rain, which are most likely during the day on Tuesday. Be extra cautious driving during heavy rain, and watch out for falling rocks and slides if traveling through areas of steep terrain as well. Highest totals will be in Del Norte County where a Flood Watch is currently in effect from midnight tonight through noon on Wednesday.
