This is the view we woke up to today, the beautiful #forestcanyon beyond our deck and back forty. We’re in the process of weeding, replacing the dirt and plants in the #raisedbeds to grow new #vegetables, herbs, and possibly #fruit trees in containers. On one side of our new, #rural home, we’re creating a #zengarden near the #JapaneseMaples and tall rocks. #Gardening is restorative for the soul. #Mendocino #MendocinoCoast #MendocinoCounty #NorCal #California #forest #ocean #pacificocean #PacificCoast #shelterinplace #shelterinplace2020 #COVID19 @ Mendocino, California

#COVID19 is still very much with us. Therefore, Richard and I will continue sheltering in place, wearing masks outdoors, physically distancing from other humans and animals (which is sad), not traveling unless absolutely necessary, and using disinfectant protocols, hand sanitizer, frequent hand washing, etc. We are in several at-risk categories, and will continue to be very careful until we can get vaccinated. It’s a matter of life and death to take responsibility and help protect others who may be more vulnerable than ourselves. #DoYourPart #WearAMask #WereAllInThisTogether
As some of you know, I have performed at this event almost every year during the past 19 years, with the Cardew Choir, and also participated prior to joining the choir, often shooting video and taking photos of the performers and the marvelous architecture of Julia Morgan's Chapel of the Chimes, in Oakland, California. Because we cannot present our annual Garden of Memory summer solstice concert this June 21st at the Chapel of the Chimes, we have put together some previousl...y unseen video footage from Garden of Memory 2006 and 2008, which will premiere from 5 to 9 pm this Sunday, June 21st, to mark the four hours of our solstice celebration. This is video that was shot for a documentary which was never finished. We will miss seeing you, hugging friends, hearing our favorite musicians, and being together in the magical Chapel of the Chimes. It is unfortunate that this video footage leaves out so many of our treasured performers, but we felt it was the best (and easiest) way right now to mark the occasion. [Read more from presenters Sarah Cahill and Lucy Mattingly at the linked page.] We hope you'll join us for this video version of Garden of Memory at the Chapel of the Chimes in Oakland for at least some of the four hours on Sunday, June 21st! - Cathryn Hrudicka
Richard Links and I, along with members of the Cardew Choir and other performers, will be participating in a streaming world-wide version of "Heart Chant," by composer Pauline Oliveros on Sunday, June 21st, beginning at 2:00 p.m. PT/5:00 p.m. ET. Come listen to the live stream and join in! Ione and our director, Tom Bickley, will introduce the choir.
