This week we will be hosting two CPP alumni, Danielle Holzberger and Joshua Camacho, both Software Engineers who work at NASA JPL and who are also currently completing their M.S. in CS via Georgia Tech's Online M.S. in Computer Science program, with a focus on Machine Learning. They will be discussing reinforcement learning: a subset of machine learning in which the agent's behavior r...evolves around maximizing a cumulative reward. In addition to giving a brief overview of reinforcement learning, they will also be sharing their implementation of an agent that solves the Lunar Lander OpenAI Gym environment to demonstrate reinforcement learning in action. The workshop will be a walkthrough behind the process of developing a simple Android application that can be published on the Google Play Store. Please install and update Android Studio prior to the meeting. It’s recommended to create a new empty application and run it using an Android Virtual Device (AVD). If y...ou are able to run an empty application on an AVD prior to the meeting, you should be able to follow along throughout the workshop.
