We would like to say a BIG THANK YOU to everyone that has joined the journey and made Cousins Tackle what it will be remembered as. From our employees at the factory, to Prostaff/Guides/Fieldstaff, to close friends that came and hung out at the factory, and finally all our customers that bought our product. It was designed by one of the best, and tested by the best to help us provide some of the finest fishing rods in the world. Unfortunately the business side of the company ...didn’t work out. They always say it’s hard to start a business in the USA, and even harder to start one in California. It is true. We hope that you continue to support American and locally made products as you are supporting the people around you, and our country as a whole! Again, without all of your support, Cousins Tackle would have never lasted as long as it did and grown the name it did. We just got this nice message from Ron Akana. Too bad Reviews don't allow you to show pictures... FROM RON: I had contacted Charlie to make me a custom skirt which worked well for us 30+ years ago. For whatever reason the skirt was discontinued by YOZURI or YAMASHITA . Charlie went above and beyond doing several sample runs until COUSINS got it exactly how I wanted it! I’ve had COUSINS make me a couple of custom skirts before and I believe there may be more visions... in the future that we’ll make happen. Thanks Ron!

Just as you need to wash and dry your rods, the reels need some love too! You can easily prevent sending your reels in for repair as often, if you do a few extra steps between fishing trips! Thanks Benny for the info!

We have started to stack braid and it has worked very well. It takes fishing to the next level compared to just using braid with a mono top shot. You can get away fishing almost anything, but the anglers that catch the most fish on the boat have the right rod, reel, line, lures, hooks, and bait presentation down to a T. It all starts with the rods and reels. Keep it American!
