This art installation should inspire people living in, and visiting, our city to reflect on what is special about our community and encourage them to gather downtown to experience it first-hand. The approved Old Courthouse Square Master Plan identifies an area along 4th Street, at the terminus of Mendocino Avenue, to be dedicated to public art. (the area between 4th Street and the grass) The total available funding for the project is $280,000 (all inclusive design and construction) and comes from the City of Santa Rosa Public Art Fund. BTW - the money from this fund cannot be used on other projects/expenses for the city. The administrator of this Facebook page is one of the selection committee members and would to see and hear your comments below, BUT please remember to take the survey (the second link above) so that the selection committee will have more robust community input to aid us in making a decision.
