Growing up my sisters and I would celebrate Hanukkah with two of our best friends and their family. Our community didn't have a synagogue, but a local church would let the Jewish members of our community use their church for Hanukkah festivities every year. These are warm and beautiful memories to me. Memories of good friends and good food. Memories of learning about a culture and tradition that was not our own and the truly magical sense of love and community that we felt to be included, which I try to carry with me to this day. We've had a lot of folks ask about our annual after Christmas sale, so I figured I should address what we are doing given the pandemic and strange year: My not-so-secret hope is to sell most of our merchandise at full price before Christmas to make up for a less than ideal first year as a business owner in the middle of a global pandemic. But I know the sale is a tradition for many of our customers, and one I would like to continue. Because of the pandemic our sale will be a ...little different. We received less merchandise this year because of production halts and order cancellations, so there will be less merchandise on sale than a normal, robust year. We can only allow a handful of folks in the store at a time, so we have decided to do the first two days of the sale (Saturday, December 26th & Sunday, December 27th) by appointment only. This will help us to mitigate crowds and allow us time to clean and sanitize surfaces between appointments. We will have open hours on Monday, December 28th from 10am to 4pm--first come, first served (max of six customers in the shop at a time). Masks must be worn properly at all times while in the shop. The safety of our customers and selves take priority over any mild discomfort one may feel for the short duration of wearing a mask while in the shop. If you would like to make an appointment for the sale, please call the shop during business hours and we will sign you up! Restock on wonderful URU printed and embossed silks. These pieces don't last long in the shop! Made in the USA, each garment is hand-dyed.
