Cosumnes Fire Recruits will be challenged physically, mentally and academically, through rigorous training in firefighting techniques, rescue operations, hazardous materials, emergency medical training and much more. Upon successful completion of our state-accredited fire academy, the Recruits become probationary firefighters and begin serving the Elk Grove and Galt communities. Application deadline is November 1, 2020.

A new chapter began last night as Chief Felipe Rodriguez took command of the Cosumnes Fire Department in a private ceremony. Cosumnes CSD welcomes the Rodriguez family to our community. Chief Rodriguez has served as the City of Folsom Fire Chief since 2017 and previously worked with the City of Oceanside and City of Stockton fire departments.
