In interesting read about the need to FALL clean composite decks. Can anyone point out all the problems with this article? You should be able to if you have read the Corte Clean website, especially if you have used dishwashing detergents & are now a Corte Clean customer. https://www.dispatch.com//most-decks-need-fall-/114090698/

Customer buys a house with an existing, what he thinks is a grey Trex deck. Unfortunately, the previous owner, routinely chlorine bleached it with sodium hypochlorite in an attempt to remediate mold. New owner does one application with Corte Clean & discovers half his deck was built with brown colored Trex. The Corte Clean additionally exposes how the routine use of this biocide against science has exacerbated the mold. This is becoming increasingly common with those that buy existing composite decks. Those that have exacerbated molds will likely need to "repeat" the application process of Corte Clean several times or more to thoroughly clean the stains. Once thoroughly Corte Cleaned, the sun will likely "weather" bleach or fade the color back to grey.

Those that recommend & sell sodium hypochlorite, such as chlorine bleach or deck cleaners that contain it for cleaning "mold" from the "wood" found in most composites are ignoring science. https://ir.library.oregonstate.edu/conc/articles/6969z1338 Why do you think they do this? $$$
