LAST THREE DAYS TO SIGN UP FOR CHRISTMAS! Settlement House will be signing up families and individuals for Christmas toys and food through Saturday, December 12. These are the final three days to sign up for 2020 Christmas. Sign up Thursday December 10, Friday December 11 from 10:00am until Noon. Saturday December 12 sign ups are from 9:00am until noon. 507 S. Vicentia Ave., Corona. Please share this information and let your neighbors in need know that we are wanting to help make their Christmas brighter. Those signing up should bring an ID for each member of the household, a proof of residency (utility bill) and proof of income. Any questions, call us at 951-737-3504.

The Settlement House will be reopening on Monday, November 30! Food pantry will reopen and other services will be available We will again be able to receive donated items. New unwrapped toys may be dropped off at your local fire station. We will again be signing up those who need help at Christmas for Christmas toys and food. Signups will be held Monday through Saturday beginning at 10:00AM. Signups will be held for the next two weeks. If you need help - please let us help you! We can make Christmas so much brighter for your children and your family!

If you live in Corona, Norco, or Eastvale and are in need of groceries, the Settlement House remains open and is giving out bagged groceries - five days a week, Monday through Friday, from 4:00pm to 5:30pm. If you have not received groceries from the Settlement House before, just bring your ID to show that you live in our agency's area. We are located at 507 S. Vicentia Ave., Corona (across from the old Corona City Hall). We are here to help you!

Settlement House is so very sad, upset, distressed to inform everyone that we will have to be closed until Monday, November 30! We were told on Friday morning... that a person who had volunteered during the week at Settlement House has tested positive for COVID-19 virus! We spoke with the Health Department and were told that our staff and volunteers needed to guarantine for 14 days. Clients who are not receiving their groceries during this period of time will be able to receive their groceries beginning November 30 in addition to their regularly scheduled pick up day. Those who wish to sign up for Christmas food and toys, we will begin signing up on November 30 and will be signing up Monday through Saturday to make sure everyone has an opportunity to do so. Settlement House needs a Good Samaritan! Settlement House has a 20 ft. box-type storage container that we have been keeping on a property in Norco. This storage container must be moved to a new location by May 31! We thought we had a new place for it, but have just been told that the property is not big enough for the container. If you have, or know of a property, where we could place this container, please let us know. (951-737-3504. Ask for Sally or Lorena)

The Settlement House Thrift Store is now open for business! We will begin taking donations on Friday, September 25! We have a great thrift store - come visit us, you will be pleasantly surprised! Monday through Friday - 10:00am to 3:00

Thank you for the response to our request for pop-top cans of food for the homeless lunches. Additionally, we are also in need of bleach and disinfectant spray. Any donations will be so very much appreciated! Donations can be dropped off at Settlement House, 507 S. Vicentia, Corona. Thank you!!!!

Just to update all of you...The Settlement House is still open to serve our clients - primarily the food pantry is distributing bagged groceries to our clients five nights a week, and also distributing bagged lunches to the homeless five days a week. As you probably can image, our numbers have increased lately, as in this difficult time there is more need. Our Needs: The Settlement House is especially in need right now of food for the homeless lunch bags - specifically pop-top cans of pasta, soups, Vienna sausage, small cans of tuna. We also include in the lunches juice boxes and granola bars. Any donation will be very much appreciated!!

The Settlement House is busy preparing for our Christmas Programs. We will be giving food baskets and new toys to hundreds of families in need. But...we also have a need. We have not yet found a building that we can use to sort and fill food baskets, and to sort and gift wrap toys. We are in need of someone to donate the use of a building - 5,000 sq. ft. minimum of open warehouse space. We will need the building from now until about the first week of January. We are a 501(c)3 agency, so the donation of the use of a building is tax deductible. We pay electric bill for the time we use the building, and always leave the building cleaner than when we started.
