For many locals, yachting is a treasured past-time. We have many options to adorn your captains quarters on land while you reminisce about good times at sea. And don't forget--Fleet Week is coming up. FleetWeekSanDiego.org
#govote today. In this #throwback photo Bonnie Galli helps a citizen cast his vote @coronadohighschool, one of the many polling sites in Coronado that year. #ivoted
Coronado was a favorite of President Franklin Delano Roosevelt beginning with visits in 1914 and 1915 when he was the Assistant Secretary of the Navy. During the war, the family of FDR's son John (a Navy Supply Corps lieutenant aboard aircraft carrier Hornet) lived in a home on A Avenue. This drew FDR to the island for family reasons. Here, FDR is seen visiting with his grandson. #history #beforethebridge 1900.118.588-01B

We're pulling out some spooky skeletons just in time for #Halloween. Well, this one isn't so spooky, it was a joke pulled by Rotary Club Of Coronado to tease the last member of their group to be married. The caption reads ""Burial of Louis Miller as last bachelor." Date Unknown. #history #beforethebridge
Not many people know that the GoArmy once was at North Island! These Army soldiers were some of the earliest men in the military to be trained as aviators. c. 1914 #beforethebridge #army #northisland #aviation #history Naval Base Coronado
