Today, Contra Costa Public Defenders marched to the courthouse, where we joined our community in speaking out against the racist police violence that has stolen the lives of Miles Hall, George Floyd, Breonna Taylor, and far too many more black and brown men, women, and children. We remembered these horrific losses with eight minutes and forty-six seconds of silence. We reminded ourselves of the sacred responsibilities we have on the frontlines, and we again affirmed our commi...tment to aggressively defend our clients and black lives everywhere. We marched to the jail, where we said their names and told our incarcerated clients that their lives matter at the top of our lungs.
