CCC students in the new Automotive Collision Engineering Pilot Program will receive real-world experience while earning their Associate Degree. Students will be matched with an employer partner and alternate between classroom/lab experience and work-based learning at a participating collision repair facility.

Thanks to you we exceeded our $75,000 goal and raised $99,678.25 during our Rising Comets, Overcoming Barriers Campaign! Even during one of the most challenging years, our amazing community came together to support CCC students.

I come from a low-income family, and I don’t want to put the burden of paying for college on my parents when they’ve already sacrificed so much for me. Scholarships will be a huge help with tuition, as well outside costs. I’m so grateful."

The National League of Cities has selected Richmond, which is partnering with the Richmond Promise and Contra Costa College, to join its Community of Practice on Addressing the Basic Needs of Postsecondary Students initiative. The peer-learning cohort will aim to remove barriers to basic needs that can prevent local students studying at Contra Costa College from successfully completing their postsecondary degrees, certificates, or other credentials required to access careers.

In 1955, Chizu Iliyama became the first director of the early childhood education program at CCC and ran that program for 30 years. She was a remarkable woman, activist, teacher, and human being.
