After being used 365 days per year for over 7 years straight, powered ON 24/7, the heating element in the steam tank of our trusty 1st gen Hydra deteriorated to the point that it completes its own circuit!! In other words, it would not turn off, continuing to boil the water in the steam tank far past our temperature set point, producing way more steam than required, and triggering the pressure release valve. All this just before a busy weekend, damn it! But we're making the ...best of a bad situation and still have you covered. We disconnected all power to the steam tank, so we can still pull tasty shots until the new element arrives on Tuesday. Big thanks to the awesome tech support from our friends Aaron and Scott from Synesso! Just one of the many reasons we love Synesso machines. Hot pour overs, iced espresso drinks, hot americanos, iced chai, cold brew, and the usual tea selection are all still available until we have steam power again midweek. See more
