Racism is wrong, it is short sighted, and it must not be tolerated, not for one more moment, and not for one more exception. We can no longer remain silent, or ...we shall become the Spring without songbirds. We cannot allow white dominated power structures to continue to shape our society, our law enforcement response, our public policy, our political discourse, or even our ability to enjoy and protect nature. As an environmental organization, it is incumbent upon us to look at the whole of the ecosystems we seek to steward and protect, including the human beings within those ecosystems, and find the courage and insights to tend the system to enable it to flourish at it's best possible harmony. Allowing racism, bigotry, and hatred to persist is simply put, totally unacceptable. https://www.conservationaction.org/a-message-of-solidarity/

"Winegrowers should immediately halt Roundup applications and join with local government, environmental organizations, and consumers to eliminate synthetic pest...icides throughout Sonoma County. The entire industry should plan for the transition to organic and biodynamic wine production to protect the health of growers, workers, and consumers, and promote regenerative land management. Benzinger Family Winery in Glen Ellen and Hopland’s Fetzer Winery have already charted that course for others to follow. " https://www.sonomacountygazette.com//sonoma-county-farmwor

Environmental pollutants are responsible for many adverse health effects, especially in children. SCCA is successfully reducing exposure to toxic chemicals in o...ur public lands. The Toxic Free Future Campaign is the fight to make all of our Parks, Schools, and Open-Spaces free of toxic, synthetic pesticides like Round-Up.. "Despite decreasing levels, exposure to these and other toxic chemicals, especially flame retardants and pesticides, still resulted in more than a million cases of intellectual disability in the United States between 2001 and 2016. Furthermore, as the target of significantly fewer restrictions, experts say, flame retardants and pesticides now represent the bulk of that cognitive loss." https://neurosciencenews.com/iq-pesticides-flame-retardant/

"The LCP (Sonoma County Local Coastal Plan) needs also to address coordination between those agencies promoting more tourism and those agencies looking out for the well being of the communities most heavily impacted."

If you buried men's cotton underwear in the soil of most vineyards in Sonoma County what do you think would happen? Would they "fall apart like wet newspaper" o...r stay intact? Turns out the answer to this question is very important to preventing climate change. Soil with healthy microbes is able to prevent soil erosion, conserve water, break down environmental pollutants, and store atmospheric carbon. Heavy synthetic pesticide/herbicide use disrupts these important healthy microbes. "Soil health is public health" https://www.washingtonpost.com//81634f54-a4ba-11e9-bd56-ea
