Here's a way to keep carnival ride costs down at Conejo Valley Days (May 7 - 10)--and get your kids to read. Children must read three books approved by their teacher and their parent, write a brief summary of each book on a Read & Ride form (available on the CVD website, through participating schools or at Thousand Oaks libraries), have his or her parent and teacher sign the completed form and bring the form to the Kastl Amusements information booth inside the CVD site. The child will receive a pass good for three free rides. Kindergarten-age kids can draw pictures about their books on the back of the form. Homeschoolers can also take part in the program. Kids in all school districts are eligible. More info at: http://www.conejovalleydays.us/.

Vendor slots are now available for the 64th annual Conejo Valley Days (CVD), May 7 through 10 at Conejo Creek Park South (Janss Rd./23 Freeway) in Thousand Oaks. Local businesses and craftspeople can show off their products or services in booths along CVD's Main Street and other site locations. Vendors are required to decorate their booths in a western theme and wear western attire. CVD hours are Thursday, May 7, 5:00 p.m. to 10:00 p.m., Friday, May 8, 5:00 p.m. to midnight, Saturday, May 9, noon to midnight and Sunday, May 10, noon to 8:00 p.m. Vendor forms are available on the CVD website, www.conejovalleydays.us, click "Home" then "Exhibitors & Vendors." A limited number of food vendor spots are still open. Food vendor inquiries should be sent to [email protected].
