C21’s Choke out Covid 19 BJJ Academy Support Challenge. Like training at your academy? Whether your academy has stayed open or closed during this pandemic, odds are they have been affected. No doubt they have lost clients, had memberships paused, etc. Most of these academies are family-owned, family-run businesses. There is not much support there for them through federal, state, and local channels. Most will not see any money from the SBA. Some have had rents deferred, but... many will have to eventually pay it. Most are owned by individuals who have busted their butt getting to where they are, are proud, and probably not going to let you know they could use some help, if need be. So let’s do what the jiu jitsu community does and band together at this time for your local academy, here is how: (and, please, this is not for everyone. If you have been severely affected by Covid 19 and money is tight, save it. This is for those that can.) 1. Contact your academy and ask them to adjust your billing and add $21 or more to your monthly dues for the next 6 months...Or 2. If that is too steep, make a one time donation of $21 or more to them. That’s it, but imagine if half the population of a school made a change in their dues for the next 6 months. How many lives can we affect in a positive manner.
