We are so grateful to Cosmopolitan Tavern for their ongoing support of the families at Terry’s House. For several years, this local business has committed to providing upwards of 50 meals each month for families to enjoy. Terry's House is a safe and welcoming place to stay for families with loved ones in critical care Community Regional Medical Center. We are so grateful for Cosmopolitan’s generosity and compassion! Thank you!
ICYMI: This weekend, MedWatch Today will be re-airing the Terry’s House special. You can watch it on Saturday, February 27 on KSEE24 at 7:00 p.m. or on Sunday, February 28, on CBS47 at 6:30 p.m. Hope you tune in!
We’re still so grateful for last week’s donation of 50 iPads! Check out this video with Dallas about this special donation!
Tony Capozzi, famed defense attorney and former President of the State Bar of California, is a master of courtroom battles. But during a recent health battle, Tony relied on Community Medical Centers and our team of exceptional caregivers. Today, he came back to Community Regional Medical Center to thank the doctors and nurses who provided compassion and care when Tony needed it most. To show his thanks, Tony has supported Community through a donation to the Honor Your Care Hero program. If you would like to honor a caregiver who made a difference in your life, visit the link below. www.communitymedical.org/carehero
Check out this video about the Candlelight Guild from MedWatch Today! This local, charitable organization recently made 1,000 hand-written cards for our patients. We are so grateful for their thoughtfulness!
We are so grateful to Dallas for her recent donation of 50 iPads! Some of you may remember Dallas’s story. Pregnant with twins, Dallas came down with a severe case of COVID-19. She was so sick that she spent three weeks on a ventilator and eight days on ECMO. ECMO (extracorporeal membrane oxygenation) is a treatment reserved for some of the most ill patients. It takes over the functions of the heart and lungs and allows the body to recover. Dallas is doing better now and wanted to give back. Her donation of 50 iPads will help so many patients talk to their loved ones while hospitalized. We are so grateful that Dallas is doing better and thankful for her generosity to other patients still in the hospital.
Our friends at Central California Food Bank are at it again! We are so grateful for their recent delivery of an additional 200 boxes! These meal kits will be given to the families being served by our Home Health team. Thank you, Central California Food Bank!
We’re so proud of Emmy and grateful to the Lovik family for their support. We hope you saw their interview on The Kelly Clarkson Show. While her original fundraiser has ended, Emmy has created a high-resolution digital print as a thank you to donors who support our frontline caregivers at Community Medical Centers. When you make your donation, you will automatically receive a secure link via email to download your print, which features a big, red heart. Follow the link to make your donation and get your print today!
Secret’s out! Remember Emmy? Well since you’ve been gone someone else took notice of the young artist: Kelly Clarkson! Hearing about how Emmy and her parents gave back to Community during the pandemic, Kelly invited Emmy to virtually visit The Kelly Clarkson Show. You can watch this special episode TOMORROW at 1:00 p.m. on CW (KFRE) Fresno.
ICYMI: This weekend, Central Valley Community Bank was featured as a Healthcare Hero on MedWatch Today for their recent donation. We are so grateful for their support of our staff!
Wishing you and your family a happy and healthy 2021!
Thank you to Laura MacBride and her third-grade class from Bullard Talent who made notes and donated to support Community Medical Centers. Ms. MacBride then worked with Deli Delicious, Frito Lay and Pepsi to get 100 sandwiches, 100 bags of chips and 100 bottles of water for our busy emergency department staff. Thank you to everyone who made this possible!
Many community groups have stepped up this holiday season to give our tiniest patients, and their families, a little extra support. Things like blankets, books, toys, diapers, gift cards and even meal relief kits will be given to the NICU families who need it most. Thank you to Central California Food Bank, Amelia’s Angels, Ethan’s Hope, Fresno Multiple’s Club & our local Amazon distribution center partners for your generosity!
Happy holidays from your friends at Community Medical Foundation! This year has been different. We all want to see family on holidays, but we want to see them next year too. It’s up to you, you are the frontline now. We can only do so much without your help. On behalf of every doctor, every nurse, every healthcare worker: Don’t share your air. Mask up. Don’t gather. Be kind.

When a number of our coworkers were displaced by the Creek Fire, fellow employees jumped into action and gave generously to support their Community Medical Centers family. Impacted employees received gift cards for groceries and essential items, and social worker Caroline D. had a home away from home in Terry's House. Here’s a special message from Caroline: Mandatory: Evacuate NOW immediate threat of Life!" I got this Sheriff's Office text while working a super busy shift in... the Emergency Department. We have go-bags ready for this situation, but there has never been a fire like this. Being welcomed to stay at Terry's House during the evacuation gave me the necessities: safety, security, sleep and kindness. Staying at Terry's House during such a chaotic time not knowing if my home would survive the fire allowed me to fully focus on caring for our patients and their families." See more
Is there anything better than a Sam's Italian sub? How about 227 subs, donated from Noble Credit Union for the care teams at Community Cancer Institute and in the ICU at Clovis Community Medical Center. Says the wonderful crew at Noble: Thanks to everyone in the healthcare industry for caring for those in need in our community. We are forever grateful for the kindness, patience, and generosity demonstrated each and every day.
The Pink Acura is turning heads at Community Regional Medical Center today! While you can’t physically sign the car like in previous years, you can digitally sign it and Fresno Acura will donate to the Marjorie E. Radin Breast Care Center in your name! Go to www.fresnoacura.com/sign-the-pink-acura
It’s impossible not to smile when looking at Emmy’s paintings Earlier this year, little Emmy raised $4,000 for PPE for Community’s frontline heroes by selling her beautiful artworks to the public. This kid is so special!
It’s not too late to pick up your pink patches to support local breast cancer patients. Check out Candice rocking the full collection looking good, friend!
The Terry’s House Gals volunteers Jessica, Debra, Erla, Terry & Cathy brought festive fall cheer to the house this morning. Each season, these amazing ladies put their hearts into decorating Terry’s House, uplifting spirits as a result. Terry’s House is a home away from home for families with a loved one in critical care at Community Regional Medical Center, and little touches like these truly make a difference.
Please consider donating blood to protect our Valley, where there is a critical blood-supply shortage.
State Center Community College District Police Department which protects Fresno City College, Reedley College, Clovis Community College, CA and Madera Community College is selling patches in memory of April Barajas, director of their child development center, who passed away from breast cancer in August. April loved the beach, coffee, all things vintage, the Beatles and baking cupcakes. But encouraging the next generation of early childhood educators was her greatest passion.
With funds raised through last year's Valley Pink Patch Project with local law enforcement, the Marjorie E. Radin Breast Care Center purchased a new ultrasound system with special software to help reduce unnecessary biopsies for breast cancer patients. This equipment is already making a tremendous difference for hundreds of patients! If you'd like to buy a pink patch, go to ValleyPinkPatch.org today.
Do you look forward to signing the Pink Acura each October? While this year is a little different, your impact is the same. Just sign (online!), and Fresno Acura will donate to support Valley breast cancer patients. fresnoacura.com/sign-the-pink-acura
