Community health centers (CHCs) provide the best model of equitable vaccine distribution in California, but are being left out of the state’s vaccine distribution efforts for the sake of speeding up the process. We are asking @CAgovernor to prioritize CHCs and our patients!... #CHCsVaccinate #VaccineEquity See more

Read today's op-ed in The Mercury News written by Dolores Alvarado of Community Health Partnership, and Michele Lew, CEO of The Health Trust regarding COVID-19 ...vaccine prioritization. On September 1, the National Academies of Science, Engineering, and Medicine released a robust 114-page draft framework that proposes a phased approach for the eventual distribution of safe COVID-19 vaccines. The framework rightfully recommends high-risk healthcare workers and first responders should receive priority for the COVID-19 vaccine in Phase 1a. We believe residents in multigenerational housing in the geographic areas hardest hit by COVID should be prioritized in Phase 1b. Just as contact tracing will help those most impacted, vaccines should do the same. That will not only help multigenerational homes, it will help all communities.
