We celebrated Unity Day at the Human Services Center on October 21st. Pictured is the staff of Villa Esperanza Services in their custom T-shirts. Unity Day is a day to show spirit for kindness and inclusion and educate people that bullying is not a normal rite of passage. PACER's National Bullying Prevention Center and Villa Esperanza Services are housed in our building.

Marion Schillo was honored as 2007 Mardi Gras Ball Queen. She dedicated her life to helping others. She and her husband Frank were instrumental in the founding boards of many local non-profits including Community Conscience, Many Mansions, Manna, and more. Her memorial service yesterday was well attended as she was loved by many in our community. Marion made such a difference in the lives of others!

The Kiwanis Club of Thousand Oaks presented us with a check today! Sherrill Hyink, a member, started a fundraiser on our behalf with Kiwanis matching up to $50...0.00 in donations. Many thanks to this longstanding generous service club which helps local non-profits and children in our community. I am a member too! Contact me if you would like to join us for virtual breakfast!
