Spoiler alert: MBJ is not single, and that candy won’t be marked down until at least the 15th. But Coffee Meets Bagel is always here for you
At an office holiday party in 2016, I was telling co-workers about a particularly horrible date. Before I knew it, bosses and employees alike were swiping left and right on all of my apps. I was beyond tired of dating, so I quite literally said, Whatever. . Mohnish was in a similar boat and had almost given up on the swiping life, but then he opened Coffee Meets Bagel and came across my profile. He felt there was something about my eyes and so, being the hopeless romantic h...e is, he skeptically liked. . So, I get a message from this tall, dark, and handsome guy I don't remember swiping on. We chatted for a few days and planned our first date. . We met, we talked for hours, he cracked silly jokes, I laughed all night, we went to see "XXX: Xander Cage," we marveled at how horrible the movie was, we basically lost track of time, and that's when we knew that this was going to be quite different from all of our past experiences. . September 2017, we got dressed for what was going to be a family dinner. I didn't quite understand why Mohnish was so antsy about time and parking and his sunglasses and everything. Then, I ripped my new purple dress I was livid and lost all concentration. . We located a store that randomly sold sewing kits, and bought three just for the safety pins to hold my dress together. We proceeded down the stairs to a beach, because apparently everyone was waiting for the reservation and thought it would be a great place to wait as the sun slowly set. . Still confused and lost in my misfortune as I walked on the shore, I then saw the table and the screen displaying my family, closest friends, and pictures of things I enjoyed. In the background, the soundtrack from Kal Ho Naa Ho was playing. . Mohnish got on one knee in the sand holding the little blue box that a girl only sees in her dreams and I, who was sobbing at this point, listened as Mohnish opened up his heart to the girl of his dreams, the girl he knew was ‘The One,’ and who he wanted to spend the rest of his life with. I said absolutely yes! -@humbl_mnstr and @akhemicalrxn #CMBcouple

Hey daters! Hope you’re up to trying some new things, because we’re going to give you a new dating challenge each week for the rest of the month. Let’s kick it off with something we all could be a little better at: being vulnerable. You have a new task each day, but hey, even if you only do one of these things you’re on the right track.
When you start getting comfortable with someone you’re dating, it’s totally natural to slip into a conversation routine how was your day, what do you want to watch on Netflix, where should we eat those types of things. Not that there’s anything wrong with that! Just remember to stay curious about your partner and ask questions that are less about talking, more about communicating.
*Cue Friday the 13th music* It’s time we lock the conversation killers away for good, don’t you think?
Kim Lawrence and Kenny Wright "I almost deleted Coffee Meets Bagel. I know, I know, it sounds terrible...but I was getting rid of all dating apps. Starting fresh and trying to meet someone the tired, tried, and (not) true antiquated way offline. Thankfully, God had other plans for us. We had prayed for each other. I'd had CMB for a few months, and was living in a new city in Central Florida. He had downloaded the app a few days before we connected and had also recently moved ...to the same city. You know those pesky, little red notifications that tell you when you have an alert on your phone? That popped up and stopped me from deleting the app and I'm so glad it did. I had to check the notification, was compelled to check it. It was an alert telling me I had a new interest. I opened CMB and there he was. We matched August 2017 and the rest, as they say, is history. Before meeting, we spoke to each other for hours. It was crazy how much we had in common like our heritage, similar tastes in foods, and how our differences also complemented each other. When we met in person, we explored our new city together. Then, a little under two years later in a park on a sunny Sunday afternoon, he got down on one knee and asked me to adventure together forever. We're getting married this October and I couldn't be more thrilled." @kimlawz & @_wrightrealtor #BlackLove #BlackWeddings #BlackExcellence #SouthFlorida #Miami #WrightRealtor #Kimlawrenceod #BlackOwnedBusinesses #CMBCouple
One thing we should never expect from our partner is for them to read our minds.
You’re either the kind of person who uses proper punctuation in a text, or you’re the person who sees a period and thinks OMG, we’re fighting.
We can't shape and mold someone to fit our needs, as much as we'd like to sometimes. We all deserve to be loved for who we are, not who we could maybe become one day. .
