#sweatforacause with our Stonewall workout on June 28th. We’re aiming to raise at least $100 for The Out Foundation with a portion going to the National Black Justice Coalition (NBJC) Why Stonewall? June 28, 1969, New York City police raided the Stonewall Inn, a gay club located in Greenwich village NYC. Led by queer people of color, the raid sparked a riot among bar patrons and neighborhood residents as police roughly hauled employees and patrons out of the bar, leading ...to 6 days of protests and violent clashes with law enforcement outside the bar and streets nearby. The Stonewall Riots served as a catalyst for the gay rights movement in the United States and around the world. The WOD: Stonewall From Home 12 minute AMRAP 6 forward lunges 28 double unders 6 reverse lunges 9 burpees "STONEWALL" 12 Minute AMRAP 6 Squat Cleans (135/95) 28 Double Unders 6 Shoulder to Overhead (135/95) 9 Burpees https://secure.givelively.org//inf/coco-at-diablo-rock-gym

Due to recent comments by the CEO of CrossFit, Touchstone Climbing and our CrossFit instructors have made the mutual decision to end our affiliation with the CrossFit brand. We’re not yet sure what its future will be, but we look forward to moving into it with you. We will share more details about this change as we begin reopening the gyms.

Join V16’s class this Saturday at 9am to honor the Black community. It’s long overdue to come together and educate ourselves. Same link that’s shared on SugarWOD and FB. Repost from @crossfitv16 We are changing Saturday's WOD to "Big Floyd." @CrossFit HQ may be silent, but we will not be. To be silent is to be complicit. CrossFit V16 stands with the Black community in solidarity against the violence and oppression that racism as cultivated and continues to cultivate in t...his country. Change comes from action and it doesnt end with this symbolic gesture. Join us in this workout, but also please continue to use your priviledge, if you have it, as a weapon against racism and injustice. Find a lane. Educate yourself, listen, amplify Black voices, donate your time, your money, your energy. "In a racist society, it is not enough to be non-racist, we must be antiracist." - Angela Davis Check out and follow the pages below for more resources: @decolonizing_fitness @reclaimtheblock @chkyourprivilege @mvmnt4blklives @rachel.cargle @nowhitesaviors @blackpowercleans #crossfit #crossfitwod #herowod #georgefloyd #blackpowercleans #crossfitv16 #cococrossfit #stoppolicebrutality See more

We are proud to be part of the @touchstoneclimbing family. #crossfitisforeveryone #fitnessforeveryone When we say climbing is for everyone, we are taking a stance. We are saying that we believe in everyone’s right to access to our sportand that we know we haven’t gotten there yet. Access is not about opening our doors and expecting people to walk through. It is about recognizing the barriers to entry and working to take them down. And there is no greater barrier than ...being denied your basic humanity. Black people in America can’t expect to feel safe jogging in their neighborhoods, buying candy from a corner store, holding cellphones in public, or even relaxing in their own homeshow could we expect them to feel safe rock climbing? To our Black community: We stand with you. We recognize our role in creating a more just society, starting with our gyms. We are reiterating our commitment to do better. We will continue to do the work within Touchstone to cultivate social equity at every level, from hiring practices to employee trainings and staff support. We will continue to work with organizations and support local leadership who fight for equity and access to rock climbing, both indoors and out, for all. We hope everyone in the Touchstone family feels empowered to speak out in this painful moment. It can be hard to know what you can do to fight systemic racism as an individual. It feels scary and impossible to change a system, but it CAN be changed. Here are ways that you (yes, YOU) can fight racism today: * VOTE. Laws are made by lawmakers. You choose who those lawmakers are. * Support Black-owned businesses (links in our stories) * Support on-the-ground activist groups (links in our stories) #BlackLivesMatter #SayTheirNames
